Will this refrigerator fit my space?
ExactFit is a refrigerator fit checker that compares your finished opening’s width, height and depth with manufacturer refrigerator dimensions and installation-clearance requirements. Advertised refrigerator size alone is not enough to prove a fit.
The checker considers available cavity depth, rear ventilation, side and top clearance, and hinge-side wall or door-opening requirements when the manufacturer publishes them. It reports Fits, Does not fit, or Uncertain rather than guessing, helping you find refrigerators that fit your space and identify models that need additional checking before purchase.
How to measure for a refrigerator
- Measure the narrowest finished width at the top, middle and bottom.
- Measure finished height at multiple points and use the smallest result.
- Measure cavity depth from the back wall to the front edge. Account separately for baseboards, plugs, water connections and required ventilation.
- Check hinge-side wall clearance and space for doors to open without striking a wall, handle or cabinet.
- Check the delivery route separately. Cavity fit does not prove the refrigerator can pass through every doorway or turn.

How do I know whether a refrigerator will fit?
Measure the narrowest finished width, height and usable depth of the opening, then compare those measurements with the exact model’s exterior dimensions and installation requirements. ExactFit reports Fits, Does not fit, or Uncertain when the retained manufacturer evidence is incomplete.
How much clearance does a refrigerator need?
Clearance differs by exact model. Manufacturer instructions may specify rear ventilation, top and side space, plumbing allowance, or hinge-side wall clearance. Use the requirements published for the exact refrigerator rather than one universal value.
What is the difference between refrigerator dimensions and installation dimensions?
Product dimensions describe the appliance body or a named endpoint such as height to the hinge or depth without doors. Installation dimensions add the opening, ventilation and operating space required around that appliance.
Will a counter-depth refrigerator fit my opening?
Counter-depth describes a product class, not a fit guarantee. Compare the exact model’s width, hinge height, depth endpoint, required cutout or additive clearances, and any nearby wall or door-opening constraint with your finished opening.
Can I find a replacement refrigerator with the same dimensions?
You can compare models against the same measured opening, but matching advertised width alone is not enough. A replacement can differ in hinge height, case depth, handle projection, ventilation, wall clearance and delivery requirements.
Why do manufacturer refrigerator dimensions sometimes conflict?
Manufacturers may publish product pages, specification sheets and installation manuals at different revisions or for different model families. ExactFit retains uncertainty when the evidence cannot support one safe value and uses reviewed, endpoint-specific evidence when a conflict has been resolved.
